Your money is yours. You are entitled to understand every part of it. If something is not making sense, that is not your failure -- it is a failure of communication, and it is my job to fix it.
You do not have to choose between the practical and the emotional. You need both. That is the whole point.
I went through my own divorce.
I came into it with something a lot of women in that position do not have: a background in financial analysis. I understood accounts, assets, statements, and what questions to ask. I knew how to read the documents being put in front of me.
And it was still one of the hardest things I have ever navigated.
Not because the numbers were complicated. But because I was trying to make clear, rational financial decisions in the middle of one of the most emotionally overwhelming experiences of my life. Grief and logic do not run on the same track. I knew what I was looking at and I still second-guessed myself constantly. I still felt scared. I still had moments where I just wanted someone to tell me what to do.
That experience changed how I think about this work.
If it was that hard for me, with all the knowledge and background I had, I kept thinking about the women who were sitting across from an attorney or a mediator with no financial foundation at all. No one to explain what the documents actually meant. No one to help them figure out what they even had before they were asked to divide it.
That is who I built this for.
